Mermen

Today I went to Merefest at The Mere in Ellesmere celebrating the Meres and Mosses and it's wildlife.There were lots of stalls, crafts, food music and activities.

There were various things going on in the evening including a walk in the woods along the side of The Mere. It had been turned into a magical woodland walk with lanterns and figures in the trees.

These mermaids on the rocks in the water were posing and swimming around to music of females singing. It all looked beautiful. When I looked at the photos I realised that the mermaids were actually men which was not apparent with the naked eye. In fact they look as though they are at a rather drunken stag party! It just goes to show that you never know what washes up in The Mere!!
