Macedonian Orthodox
This lovely Orthodox Church in Neive was the surprise of today's walk as far as I was concerned. To walk off a sunny lunchtime Italian square and find a resonant space glowing with icons was quite an experience and completely unexpected (i.e. Himself and I discovered it!)
The church, dedicated to the Archangel Michael, seems to have been given to the Macedonian Orthodox Christians by the Roman Catholic Church - presumably when they moved into the large baroque church across the square. Its acoustic was wonderful.
But why Macedonians in Piemonte?
