Ali on the Clyde
We have a dramatic sort of view from our house on a day like this, when I kept hanging precariously out of the bedroom window - which was threatening to blow in on me - to take photos of the waves. This shows the moment when we realised the heroic Western Ferries, which had ploughed through dreadful seas all morning, were no longer running - the wind was at its height and the tide was in. But the sun was out, the sea was that wonderful colour, and life seemed more possible. The fish man may not have made it (so we're having curry for dinner) and we might be cut off from The Other Side, but at least it wasn't quite as grim as my extra photo shows.
On the down side, I've just found half a slate in the garden ...
