Memento

I gathered these tiny shells from a beach on the Gulf coast of Florida, very many years ago. Most of them are no larger than a finger nail. They have been in this little glass dish ever since. N and I were on an extensive motoring holiday in 1989 which started in Boston, went up into the mountains of Vermont, and then took us right down the east coast of the United States. It took about three weeks and was a memorable trip. So much to see.
I thought about my little shells last week when those Florida beaches were threatened by hurricane Irma, and I wondered how they had fared.
The little shells are just right for Tiny Tuesday.
