Wedding Day
From the start to finish this was such a great day. An early start into town to pick up the flowers and S away for a haircut when the barbers opened at 9 and me away into Nero for breakfast. Laura popped in as she was getting her make up done in the Benefit concession in Debenhams . Home to get ready - I was shaking as I was so excited for my brother and also doing a reading - not used to standing up in front of loads of people!
S left before me as he was doing the photography, our gift to them. I arrived at the Huntingtower about 1230 and then mum Laura Dave and the boys arrived shortly after. They looked so smart in their kilts - well we all looked fabulous :-)
Ceremony started just after 1.30 Morag looked beautiful and Graham was very emotional as she walked in to a wee speeded up version of Somewhere over the Rainbow. I was first with my reading so emotional reading it as Morag had tears appearing in her eyes - it was The Amber Spyglass not one I had heard of before - short but lovely words.
The boys handed out the order of service forgot to add that bit.
Ceremony over we had snacks and fizz in the other room leading out to the grounds where photos were taken.
The meal was lovely the speeches funny and before long it was the first dance which was Sunshine on Leith. It was a disco but all the songs were ones which the guests had requested on the acceptance card so all songs meant something to someone. The dance floor was never empty, everyone mixed so well and it was good to see my cousins again.
We stayed to the very end - 1am and even Mum managed to stay up till The last song - Loch Lomond and we had some chat before heading home.
Nothing beats a good family wedding. It's good for the soul. I was so proud of the boys. Everyone said how smart they were in their kilts and how well they got on with everyone up dancing and having fun.
