Today’s the day ...................... to be among friends

Long though a narrowboat might be, it’s still quite a confined space to occupy with four others - for a whole week .

You are in close proximity, with only a bit of plywood separating you from the rest when you’re brushing your teeth, having a shower, cooking kippers, sleeping – or any of the other normal functions of daily life.  Just as well then that we’ve known each other for nigh on fifty years now – and we feel pretty much at home in each other’s company.  We can just be ourselves whether we’re having a big debate about something, enjoying a joke – or just quietly reading a book.

This is Sue, one of my bestest friends – looking her usual lovely self ......................
