Friday: Aberdeen

Holiday! We're now roadtripping for a bit. Apart from a week in Mexico earlier in the year and a few long weekends, this is our first proper holiday since we moved to Canada in July last year. Lately, I've been really feeling that I need a break - not a feeling I've had before, so it's great that it's finally arrived.

Today we drove from Vancouver to Aberdeen, WA. It's a starting point, rather than a destination in itself. That said, it has a certain gritty charm. It's most famous for being Kurt Cobain's hometown and the unofficial motto is now 'Come As You Are'.

We arrived in good time to have a nice long walk through town. And, with our usual remarkable talent for these things, we found the excellent local microbrewery, 'Steam Donkey'.
