A soggy fungus

This afternoon I went for a walk at Ifton Meadows Nature Reserve. It was extremely wet, muddy and slippery! Most of the fungi had holes in them so the little creatures had been busy. This shot shows how wet the ground was.

When I got back towards the car park I stepped in some dog mess (Yuk!!!). I was busy wiping it off my boot when a couple with dogs (carrying black bag) came by. They were really annoyed that some dog owners give them all a bad name by not picking it up. We got talking and it turned out that his hobby was wildlife photography and we both loved the Scottish Islands so spent a while talking about our trips. A very pleasant interlude after a rather unpleasant incident!
