Well done, beauty

Today my wee lady had her first day at her new music school. As a Centre for Advanced Training, it's a chance for her to get excellent musical training in both instruments and in other areas of musicianship such as ensemble, theory, aural skills etc. She had the smallest of wobbles of nerves but went off rather happy. She came back to me with a huge grin. She has a duet partner who she's learning Mozart with. She's done theory papers. She's done movement to music, she had a piano lesson, a clarinet lesson, more ensemble work.... she's loved it. She told me later it was one of her best days. She said "I made some friends!" So thoroughly delighted with herself. At Saturday band, she's a bit of an oddball but kind of knows enough people to get by. At Monday band, she's a huge odd one out and doesn't really have friends. So this is wonderful. To be in a group that's going to look out for each other. Even though she's still noticeably the youngest, they looked out for her. I'm so proud of the wee monkey. It's been a big deal for her. Entirely new teachers, a long day of solid hard work and she's loved it.
