Flowering again in September!!

My Sambucus Nigra Black Lace, (Black Elderberry) is flowering again although its got the berries from the summer flowers on, what a strange year this has been.
Someone told me that before I prune this bush I must ask permission of the faeries because the Black Lace belongs to them.
Today was very wet to start with but it cleared by lunchtime and then we had the odd little shower this afternoon.
