50 guitarists for MK50

This year is the 50th birthday of Milton Keynes and there are various celebrations going on thoughout the year. Today the local firm Marshall Amplification organised an event where 50 local guitarists of varying ages and levels of skill got to play one number with an 'Old-School Metal' band off the Marshall record label, King Creature. Afterwards, the band played a gig which consisted of the tracks off their latest album. It was quite an event; the 50 guitarists performed well and were each given a miniature Marshall Amp to take away, and the band were excellent. Not the music I normally listen to nowadays but not too different from what I listened to about 40 years ago; exciting, pounding beats and absolutely deafening! And what made it even better was that after the gig 40 years ago I would have slumped into bed in the middle of the night and woken up with a bad head; today we were back home in time for tea!
