My roses are Spectacular!

We have an expression here in the States and it goes as follows: "the last rose of summer!" Does this expression apply to other areas of the world also? It seems as if roses are one of the last flowers to keep blooming in autumn. I look forward to my late autumn roses. Note by the raindrops that finally it did rain last night. We needed rain badly!
