All kinds of rope

Today we had a training day at Mustiala in Tammela for the staff of the School of Technology. At Mustiala there is our School of Agriculture with cows, tractors and fields in a beautiful setting. Actually Mustiala is the oldest part of HAMK - established back in 1840 already.

From those good old days there were lots of relics or artefacts (?) at the Mustiala museum. Here on the wall you can see rope made out of different materials: No 9, the furry one is made of swine hide or hair?, and No 11, which looks quite sturdy, is actually fragile, easily broken, and made out of the bark of willow. There is a saying in Finnish 'to feed someone willow rope', which means that someone is lying to you.
