Deer, deer ...
This afternoon was turning out to be a disaster. The rain, which had eased somewhat after the morning's downpour, was falling again. We'd resigned ourselves to half a mile of the hazards of the main road, and were just reaching it down the muddy connecting track when we noted that we weren't alone.
These two deer were only feet away, stock still, calmly appraising us - just look at their faces - without moving a muscle. I had time to take this photo and a short video before the one nearer us turned to its pal and suggested they move off. (Ok - I'm making this bit up.) They turned their backs on us and walked calmly off, their stripy butts noticeably swaggering.
We were completely soaked by the time we got back to the car, but I had my blip ...
