Shopping Upstairs!

Today we flew from Marco Polo (Venice's airport) via Frankfurt to Riga, the capital of Latvia. We'll be attending a 3-day conference starting Friday organized by Mount Holyoke College for its European alumnae.  It should be fabulous, with seemingly every important Latvian personality on the program.

The images are from the Venice airport; the towers of Venice in the extra serve as a greeting in the departures hall (I've cut out two others which fit less well).  We arrived in Riga at midnight, so I am posting the next morning.  The weather forecast is for rain the entire time we're here, and indeed it has mostly rained so far. We're on the tenth floor with great views of the city--likely the blip for tomorrow.
