Beautiful weather
I seemed to spend the whole morning sorting stuff about the house - certain accounts have not been transferred into our name yet and I was chasing that up, and organising gate fobs and gate codes to be changed - it seems to go on an on. All the while trying to avoid looking at the garden out the window which makes my blood boil every time I look at the dug up lawn and think about all the work that still has to be done to it.
But, its Friday, time to relax, the weather was simply beautiful today, and tonight we are going to the music scholars' concert where Thomas will be playing a very difficult trumpet piece (the Hindemith sonata for those who know about these things) so that should be enjoyable. (Not really, whenever he performs I get very nervous on his behalf)
Adam has started lectures and is back in the swing of things - it's his 3rd year at university, where has the time gone to! Luke is enjoying his internship in Paris and spending every evening and a good chunk of his weekends applying for accounting internships for next year when he is back in the UK. My goodness, its all so different from how it was in my day - the hoops these kids have to jump through to apply for these internships, its incredibly difficult and stressful - and very time consuming. There are different levels that you have to pass and so far he has got through a few levels for a few companies. Tonight he has to record a video of himself answering some questions which has to be sent to the prospective employer - that is after passing a 'situational judgement' test, a maths test, a non verbal reasoning test....and in the spirit of today's politically correct workforce, as a white male of normal ability he falls to the bottom of the pile before he has even started.
Thank you for all the kind comments on the results of that wildlife competition - some have asked which ones I entered and it was these two images as per the extras - both were shortlisted but not sure which one won a prize.
