Solace Day 1.
Back blipping. Not having posted a shot for a fortnight I will follow my usual practice of posting 2 shots a day (morning and night) until I catch up.
Friday 22nd.
We set off at 9.30 ish wondering if Solace would be ready after the major engine works. She was due to have been brought back to our mooring by one of the other owners in the syndicate. An uneventful journey apart form the usual congestion on the M6, heading south, so we arrived mid afternoon.
Solace was ready for us. so it was gear on board and on with the kettle. After reading the notes about the new engine and various other repairs there was news:
The bad news was that the central heating had failed and parts weren't available! This wasn't too bad for us as we don't need to use the central heating at this time of the year.
The very bad news was that the boat's main inverter had died and a replacement wouldn't be possible until after we get back. So Clickychick has no slow cooker and no microwave. Worse for all of us was that the little "secondary invertor" wasn't powerful enough to charge the laptops. Still it can cope with phones, camera batteries and the like.
The shot is of the bridge at the Great Haywood junction of the Trent and Mersey can with the Staffordshire and Worcerstershire canal.
