Mainhattan

The last day of the holiday is always a bit of a fraught day for me.  I just want to get home, so I get incredibly hacked off if there are delays.  Apart from the flight being delayed for about a hour, and the taxi driver who was meant to be picking us up being an arse, it all went quite smoothly.

Time to have a bit of a moan about Terminal 2 at Heathrow though.  I have vertigo and having to walk across a walkway with glass sides and that was 5 floors up, doesn't make me a happy bunny.  And then after going through all of the security rigmarole, I discover I have to go down 2 floors.  The choices for me were not great - the glass elevator was a non-starter.  How about the free standing escalator with glass sides then?  Nope, can't do that either.

I did manage to find a set of stairs, but it took a lot of effort to get down them.

So many buildings have these "features" now, it makes them effectively unusable for me.

I like stairs that are enclosed and solid - none of this gaps between each stair nonsense.

I can't be the only person in the world who has this problem.  But it feels like it.

Anyway, back home.  There are happy cats, and it's really, really quiet here compared to London.
