Moonbow
Very late last night when insomnia was preventing much needed sleep, I was lucky to spot this strangeness in the sky.
It isn't a moonbow strictly speaking, as they occur in the opposite side of the sky to the moon. This is actually a partial corona, just very very extended away from the moon. The cloud formations were the cause - very high, whispy cloud that only became visible on the images, but wasn't visible to the naked eye.
The shot is grainy as it was handheld and therefore very high iso to get the light refraction.
I am knackered, feeling bad again right now and really struggling to manage a handful of students who are stretching me to capacity in terms of the strategies I can use with them. fortunately, I have supportive colleagues, but it is a bit disheartening after 17 years to realise that you can't win all of the time.
