Wonderful Fungal Foray
4 of us intrepid walkers went out today to recce the Fungal Foray route for the Festival. It was a glorious autumn day, with lovely dappled sunlight in the woods. For part of the walk I was able to shed waterproof and fleece.
We found loads of different fungi on the route. We round large and small of all sorts. The horseshoe bracket fungi were particularly fine as were the yellow stagshorns.
What is this one? I have no idea and have not managed to find it during a quick search. See here for all the information provided by a sharp eyed blipper, Sheenagh McLaren.
That's 4 days in a row I've walked and my right knee is complaining.
The ground underfoot was very wet and we did a lot of plodging through clarts. All walkers will need strong boots and gaiters or waterproof trousers.
