Leftovers In The Flowerbed.

I have no idea what this is.  It's in the communal part of our garden. The foliage in front is a pale sage green and at the back it's quite reddish. The seed pods have star shaped openings, see extra. Any suggestions will be welcome. Can't remember what it looked like in the summer as I normally enter the garden from the other end.
