Riga Staircase ...

... in the building of Riga Art Nouveau Museum, near our hotel. We visited it this afternoon, after a wonderful award-winning Latvia documentary film in the morning, entitled  Ruch and Norie. It tells the true  story of a friendship between a Japanese girl and an 82-year-old woman living in a traditional Latvian community; it was genuinely moving.   The extra is a view from our hotel, with the golden dome of the Orthodox Cathedral shining in the setting sun (during a scarce period of blue sky).

We leave Latvia tomorrow.  I've expanded yesterday's comment, and I will have plenty of time to prepare an extensive comment for for tomorrow summing up our fascinating stay in Riga.
