Saying goodbye
Today we said goodbye to Saint-Malo and Brittany. We packed up our belongings and cycled through town from our budget hotel to the ferry port, where we boarded the ferry (relatively late) so our bikes could be the first off. Today's blip is the pleasure harbour at Saint-Malo as viewed from the deck of the MV Bretagne.
The crossing was quite choppy, plenty of ups and downs, and the captain even forbade passengers from the outside of the ship at one point, which we've never experienced before. Some people didn't like it but it didn't bother me - I don't think my better half was a fan...
On arrival in Portsmouth we were fractionally delayed but managed to just catch our direct train to Basingstoke, which connected well with the final leg to the village. So we arrived home in relatively good time, which was good as I didn't fancy waiting nearly an hour in a freezing cold train station...
