Millefiori Thistlehead

I raided the garden today for some more interesting subjects to try out the techniques I learnt on a recent workshop, and found this small thistle seedhead.  Some of the seeds had dispersed exposing the tiny centre which reminded me of a millefiori paperweight.

Edit: Just noticed that the optional theme was Pink, so I have faffed about with the image to make it pinker!  The original is now in extras

Millefiori  is a mosaic-like glasswork technique which produces distinctive decorative patterns on glassware. The term is a combination of the Italian words "mille" (thousand) and "fiori" (flowers).
