Charcott
A day on the computer finalising the orienteering club newsletter ( I am the editor), I sent it to the printers and needed a walk. By this time it was drizzly and dull. I walked round the hamlet of Charcott. There was an airfield here between 1916 - 1936 and 1940-46. All that remains are unexpected paved footpaths and several air raid shelters hidden in the trees. An enterprising local has placed geocaches in some of the shelters, most of which are still accessible. A torch is essential and you do not want arachnophobia. One shelter is now a private museum as can be seen here .
