What Have Chickens Ever Done For Us?

I don't know why I keep chickens.

Why oh why do I put up with them eh?

Well apart from the eggs that is. The eggs are beautiful, so yolky and deep yellow.

and they are very amusing to watch. It is like watching Loose Woman, except the chickens are more intelligent. You can see the gossiping and the bitching in glorious technicolour.

and they do not answer back. One can wander down to their run, lean on the fence (but be careful not to put too much weight on it as I constructed it...) and tell them about your day. They just nod away and agree with you.

and they are very good at keeping down vermin. Watching them catch a mouse, grab a leg each and then all walk backwards was.... well a bit gross really.
