inspired by the real thing
We don't have to sit looking at a photo of our wood burning stove. Here is the real thing! It was a quick dash between torrential downpours to buy fuel and kindling. Now we have to refine the art of fire-lighting.
I was brought up with open fires. Dad used to buy wood by the cord, stack it for a year or two and then prepare it for our two open fires. He must have spent hours every week sorting, sawing, splitting and transporting the logs up to the house. No wonder he was so fit. I feel somewhat feeble buying briquettes in polythene bags. Sorry, Dad!
Now, I must just go and check the fire....
