Train Work
Don't know where they were headed or exactly what that orange car does, but it appears to be able to elevate - maybe for fixing overhead wires? There were only 5 cars; lead gray engine, passenger, orange, wire spool carrier, and blue engine.
I was on a country road when this SEPTA (South Eastern Pa Transit Authority) slowly chugged up to the crossing. A few cars scooted thru before the flashing lights came on and the gate came down. A flag man actually walked out ahead of the engine and then hopped back onto the train, but not before he waved hello to me ( I think because I chose to stop). It gave me a chance to peruse the cars; taking note of the 5 men atop the orange car who appear to be enjoying the weather, the ride, and each other. The train was moving from the right to left, headed north. Hence the blue engine on the end was actually today's caboose. It was a lovely morning; blue skies and birds chirping. So I was enjoying this reprieve with a bit of interest. But not knowing how long the crossing would take, I quickly snapped this crooked picture out of the car window. The occasion brought me a smile. I hope you smile too.
