Matera

We took a short bus ride and then walked with our leader around the area until lunchtime. Magnificent views of the town and underfoot was rough paths with large stones or pasture with aromatic thyme. At 4pm a local guide took us to see the cave dwellings vacated in 1963 where people lived in poor conditions with their animals.
