Hygga Hill
I was tasked with choosing a walk and the one I chose was 'Trellech and Hygga', page 86 of Ben Giles excellent book 'Wye Valley - 40 Hill and Riverside Walks'. We've done the walk before, probably about two years ago, so didn't need to take the book with us.
We started the walk in the ancient village of Trellech (means three standing stones and the link shows an aerial of the village) and after a walk through woods crossed the B4293 into the little lovely hamlet of Hygga. The few buildings there date back to the 16th century and the land was once worked by the monks of Tintern Abbey, being the site of a former manor house. The hamlet is overlooked by Hygga Hill, the site of an Iron Age hillfort.
The blip photo shows the tree line leading to the top.
