Bay Barrage
Mrs BB and I both left the house just after 7.30am; she to go swiming her 1.5 miles and me to do a schedule call from Newport to Llandough, Cardiff. After a visit to my parents who have a house overlooking Cardiff Bay, I headed to the barrage to get an aerial photograph.
The blip photo shows the whole barrage, including barrage gates, inner bay with views towards Cardiff City Centre. You can make out the Millennium Stadium.
The Barrage lies across the mouth of Cardiff Bay, Wales between Queen Alexandra Dock and Penarth Head. It was one of the largest civil engineering projects in Europe when it started in 1994. It opened in 2001 and cost £120million, and is 0.68 of a mile long.
Early afternoon we had a walk through our local woods to a country pub. No sooner had we sat outside with some refreshments than it started to rain, and we arrived home absolutely soaked.
It's going to be nice having an evening in, just the two of us!
