This is Alfred, head of our Pump division

This is Alfred Banda, head of our Pump division, in charge of manufacture and installation, which means not alone does he make the pumps, but also installs them. Here he is making precision threads on the lathe.

This double jobbing enables him to observe the quality of the manufacturing process and any tweeks that may be needed to produce better and more reliable pumps.
Recently he wrote:

Hie boss, 
I'm still waiting to receive the order of couplers from China through Kamlesh, but he promised us to receive in two weeks time. Guys working on lathe, they are still working on it, but it is not yet working. We have 50 pumps finished and 70, some bits remaining to be glued. In total we have 120 if all finished. My plan is to install over 150 pumps from now to December end. I was talking to Rose that, in factory, we will need to have some solid bars and 75mm class 16 pipes. Last requisition I wrote I didn't included these pipes because they didn't have in stock during that time. It is good boss to order some pipes for pump making to add the numbers we have as of now so that we should have enough pumps until the first quarter of next year. Guys in factory are doing a very good job more especially Christopher who is learning fast on the lathe. In Karonga, we going to work with Lusubiro Orphanage home because they don't demand any money from us, but in one way or another they will help us. We will not work with water people in Karonga because they just want money not helping the poor people. 
Note: I thank you boss because you give me what I request in good time. I promise to work extra hard and everyone in the factory is so happy to work as a team so that more pumps should be made and installed.
