Windy with chaotic surf
The wind picked up during the day. At Sandy Beach, late afternoon, wind-driven sand blew across the beach and parking lot. The Halona Blowhole was fountaining regularly as the waves crashed against the rocks. Surfers were out, thrilling to watch. Whitecaps filled the ocean and cresting waves led your eye far out onto the horizon. It was glorious weather!
This shot shows you the difference the sun can make on the waves, as it slants across the water going down behind Koko Crater.
