Littlemouse Adventures

To everything there is a season

I love the colours of autumn - does anyone else feel that its been a little earlier this year? I know socks went on my feet earlier than last year and I am even wearing my snuggly (new) boots when I pop out.

Had a vampire appointment yesterday to take lots and lots of blood, Doctor wants to rule out a bacterial infection and I havent had full bloods taken in just over a year so it was due anyway (wonder how much blood the NHS has had off me over the years for testing).

Anyway back in rural Essex I would have headed to the local community hospital to the phlebotomy department taken my little ticket and waited to be called (well actually I would have been able to make one of the rare appointments as I was also having fasting bloods). Here it was done at the surgery. Painless as always watching my blood fill up the little tubes (yes I really do watch I dont mind needles) but the nurse couldnt find a vein in my left arm a problem that I havent encountered for many years, she did find one on my right arm but I have noticed this morning that she has left me really bruised - again not something I have had in a long time :( (think given the choice I'd rather go wait in a phlebotomy department).

Also after chatting with the doctor it was decided that I should stop the new med that I had been trying for pain control been slowly upping the dose over the last few weeks. I had noticed that some of the symptoms seemed to be worse shortly after taken them. I was extra tired and I had initially noticed that I would get a sore throat towards the evening (which is normal when I am unwell) but I then started to notice that my tongue was feeling too big for my mouth when I went to bed (I was taking meds am and pm) which again can be normal when you have a throat infection due to swollen glands, but then I started to notice it in the morning and it would subside after a couple of hours.

I knew I have an infection but I couldn't identify it I was getting soo many mixed symptoms. Anyway since stopping the meds my head is clearing I was sooo foggy with fatigue, I am now tired from body fighting sinusitis that I have now been able to identify as the infection fingers crossed there isnt a secondary one and the rest of the tests are ok. Still struggling with doing things small things make me retreat to the sofa but I think I am getting there now.

So I guess thats something else to put on the suspected allergy list, will be chatting with the Doctor again when results get back but I suspect he will agree with me that it is likely I was having a mild allergic reaction (that could potentially have turned serious if I had continued).

I am really liking the new doctor that I am seeing in the practice - being older I feel that he doesnt get intimated by my knowledge of me and ME and I feel that he listens to me and values my opinion - after all I am the expert :)

Yesterday was also Day Two of no live TV - again went really well - didnt miss it in the morning (a sure sign that I do just have it on as noise), Mr Mouse dusted of the stereo and found a CD to listen to and then late afternoon Mr Mouse watched something on lovefilm, I then caught up on Xfactor (I know its bad for me). I watched Along Came a Spider on Netflix, as I had just read the book (wish I hadnt watched the movie now) then I picked Summer of Sam as I was wanting more crime drama and I had not seen it in a while. All in all still not missing live tv - lets see how today goes :)
