lifting off...

...from the window

is a late flying ladybug

go figure that we'd be seeing a ladybug in mid-october - the 'we' i'm referring to of course is - me and miss mollie-boo - we were enjoying a late afternoon viewing of butterfly stalking - out the living room window when suddenly we were both startled - out of our revelry by the landing of this wee ladybug - onto the open window screen - i was able to prevent 'the boo' from a full assault - on the poor bug so i could quickly try and get off several shots - just as miss mollie was about to break free - the ladybug must've sensed it as well since she - lifted her wings to take flight allowing me to capture her in - a sort of half flight lift off

it might not be the ultimate in photographic shots - but that wasn't my purpose for today - it was more for the moment - to capture the sheer simplicity of a tiny ladybug - late in the season enjoying some time in the sun - it's moments like these we humans need to also take advantage of - especially as we continue to deal on a daily basis - with tragedy after tragedy in our own lives - natural disasters which are playing out in front of us - with little relief in sight - so when moments like this one present themselves - it's important to take the time to breathe in - recognizing the glory in front of us - and believing it will lead to...
