Last minute panic

As ever after adverse weather my travel plans today were knocked off kilter. I had a seat booked on the 08:23 from Oxenholm to Euston. On checking t’internet at 06:30 I discovered that my train was the only one of the morning that they had chosen to cancel. In a panic I opted to aim for the 07:23 which was running 20 minutes late but on which I had no seat reservation an which meant no breakfast. Thankfully I found one of the few unreserved seats and travelled in relative comfort.

The reason for the trip down south is the annual table tennis tournament hosted by one of my former squash buddies. The standard of play starts low and then get worse as food and drink are consumed. The evening culminates in dinner where everyone provides something. I am on dessert and local Cumbrian cheeses. The cheese was perhaps the reason that a seat was so easily gained on a packed train! The dessert which I have just made is a lemon cheesecake on a ginger crust decorated with raspberries and blueberries as per the blip!

P.S. many thanks for the hearts and stars yesterday. It is always interesting to see what people react positively to.
