At home: little light sussex and a dead head x

My chickens love sun flower heads. The children love growing sun flowers too. In such a rainy summer, its lovely to see the such a sunny shape and bright colour.

The colour dies off quickly to produce the geometrically amazing seed head. I wonder if its designed to help birds with close up vision to be able to negotiate around the linear display.

The final stage is the polished off dead head, not as sunflower seed in sight. A happy chicken also, by the way.....x
