Aire Force
We woke to clear blue skies which was amazing given the rain in the night. The river had risen loads and you certainly wouldn’t want a wee dip in it at the speed it was now flowing past. We were slightly concerned about the road out but the farmer reassured us that once the rain stops it drops. He then told us of a time that the local farmer was spraying sludge in his fields and it just ran off and formed a sludge flood ... euwww!
We then headed into the Lake District to see Aire Force as given the rain we thought it’d be pretty spectacular. It didn’t disappoint - it made up completely for “making” the boy’s go for a longer walk than just from the carpark. And as usual they were totally happy playing with sticks and chatting away by the end of the walk.
We stopped at Rheged on our way north - the boys played in the adventure playground while A n I browsed the shop full of very lovely if very expensive outdoor gear.
A fab wee trip away wish we could’ve stayed for longer.
