Shelburne Museum, Vermont
The Shelburne Museum consists of about 40 separate buildings which contain a huge and varied collection of art and artefacts reflecting not only life in Vermont but a whole range of art and craft from around the world. In some ways it resembles Beamish but focuses on a much bigger timescale. Many of the buildings were rescued and moved here and include a railroad station, a covered bridge and a lighthouse. Perhaps the outstanding exhibit however is the Ticonderoga which was a ferry boat on Lake Champlain.
