Egyptian Goose

There are a pair of Egyptian Geese visiting the large pond in Dulwich Park-South London.  We didn't know what they were until we looked them up-we also thought they were ducks.  Apparently they are related to Shelducks.  They were introduced  as ornamental wildfowl species, but have now escaped into the wild.  The RSPB website says there are just over a thousand breeding pairs in Britain, and more that overwinter here.  They seem to be most common in Norfolk.
