Cloud, mist and drizzle

Today was the last of my shadow walks required as part of the training to be a volunteer guided walk leader for the National Park. I joined two experienced leaders and four guests for a nine mile jaunt around Little Langdale. The walk was entitled Little Langdale: Tarns and Fells and included heaps of interest and classic views. Starting from Tilberthwaite we walked to Fell Foot Farm to join the Wrynose Pass road for a short while. We than took the path that leads to the west side of Blea Tarn past some lovely waterfalls. We continued pass the tarn to the road which we crossed to head up around Side Pike before climbing to the summit of Lingmoor Fell. The weather wasn't that kind as we had persistent cloud, mist and drizzle although is was very mild with only slight wind. The return journey took us past Little Langdale Tarn, Slaters Bridge and Cathedral Cavern. Despite the weather it seems everyone on the walk enjoyed themselves.

The view is of Blea Tarn from the lower slopes of Side Pike.
