The Current Mrs Creel on Manoeuvres

As you will all find out when I’m invited into your homes, I am not a sweet man.  Not for me your Rocky-Roads, Fly Cemeteries, meringues or muffins.  No, I’m strictly savoury.  Yes to marmite on toast, tangy cheese scones, a dish of olives.  However, many years ago Fiona coaxed me into tasting a piece of chocolate cake.  We were on Islay as house guests.  Coincidentally the house was only 350 yards from Laphroig, but I weakened.  Years passed and I again tasted Fiona’s chocolate cake in Aberdeen.  The recipe came north with us. 

For the last few days I kept hinting to the Current Mrs Creel that it is coming to the time of year for a chocolate cake.  Sensational recipe.  Very dense chocolate with an icing sponsored by the British Dental Association.

The Current Mrs Creel tasked me today with booking a holiday next Spring.  Where’s Cliff Michelmore when you need him ?
