Park House

Originally built in the late 16th century and turned into one of many mills that were in Sutton Park at that time. It changed hands in 1597 for £40 !! The original mill was left derelict for decades eventually being replaced by Blade Mill. The mill was used for a variety of purposes including spade and saw-making. As can be seen some of the early building still remains. The first reference to Park House was around 1898.. The building moved out of private hands in 1948 eventually to 'lose' it's name and become a Toby Inn and carvery. I had a pint of Pedigree to go with my more than adequate meal in very pleasant surroundings.. mmm
