ALONG THE WESER

in Herstelle.
Tomorrow we will travel to The Hague. So for the last time in October I collected fallen leaves. Planted the last bulbs I had here. Visited our neighbours, who are so gently to have an eye on our house.
The weather not too bad, even the sun did condenscend to show her warm face.
We drove to Herstelle, walked along the river Weser, and said goodbye to the two donkeys. I loved the little scene of the conversation we so often see take place there.
A swan family with one grey cygnet floated swiftly in the water, looking for a place to enter the shore and eat some grass. Two cormorants were warming their wings, and ducks made a lot of noise bathing.
For our way back we crossed the road and walked the path that goes higher up, nowadays not so many views, because the trees have grown and keep growing.
