IN THE AUGARTEN
To our big surprise the weather looked so good this morning. Blue in the sky, sunshine.
I searched for a nice trip, and I choose to go to the Augarten. The oldest baroque park with a rich history. In the old palace (Lustschloss) nowadays live the Wiener Saengerknaben, and in another building there is a Porzellanmanufaktur (china factory).
In world war II the nazi regime resided in the Augarten and the palace.
Two flask towers, anti air-craft towers, build in 1944, are still standing, a sinister sight.
The photo shows a lane in the park.
With the U Bahn we travelled to Heiligenstadt, took there the bus, which brought us on top of the Kahlenberg.
A view over Vienna!
We walked a forest path down till we reached Grinzing.
A bit more than 38 years Piet Hein and I came together to Vienna and Grinzing, where we were in a hotel. I was pregnant for a couple of months in the month of May. It was very odd but I could not eat anything, let alone drink wine. How romantic was that!
From Grinzing back with the bus and metro.
