River Mellte

Late morning we set of for The Four Falls Walk which is in The Brecon Beacons National Park off the A4059 between Brecon and Hirwaun, which is supplied by The River Mellte. Probably the best waterfall there is Sgwd yr Eira as you can actually walk behind it! As there has been so much rain the waterfall was the most powerful I've seen it; normally you can see people behind it looking from the front but it was so fast flowing this wasn't the case today.

The blipfoto shows the side of the watefall partly looking behind and infront. It's the only time I've got thoroughly soaked and the exposure was difficult due to the spray as I needed 1/8th of a second and needed to do it handheld as it's not tripod friendly! I've chosen it as it's a bit different from the normal photo's of the waterfall.

We put of soaking wet clothes in our new washing machine on getting home which was not without incident when the water supply pipe sprung a leak after it had been vibrating against the back of the machine. Water everywhere!!!!  No rain today but plenty of water.
