I've spent the day catching up with correspondence, washing and recording. I send fungi records to the local Natural History Society and I've recently joined the BTO and started submitting records via Birdtrack. I've also signed up for the Garden Birdwatch and this is my first week of recording. Not so long ago, we never saw goldfinches in the garden. Now they are one of our most reliable visitors. This week we have had a couple visits from a siskin, which is an unusual bird for our garden. I'm hoping it will return - preferably with friends - during my watching period so I can include it in my records..
