Pumpkin picking party! Cancelled!

Was pretty disappointed today, at the start of the weekend before Hallowe'en, to see that our local farm shop which grows its own pumpkins looked like this.
They have taken down all the advertised Halloween treats and beasties... as still being advertised on the leaflets on the tables... and were putting up Christmas decorations and stock.
Not a Halloween goodie to be seen.
I had naively imagined that families would be going out together this weekend to pick their own pumpkin and take it home to decorate, before going out guising and dooking for apples.
I heard 3 separate families commenting to children as they came in that no, they weren't buying anything because it was too early for Christmas.
Such a shame that they couldn't wait just one more week (Hallowe'en isn't till Tuesday) and give it its day before starting on Christmas.
