A matter of routine...

On the holiday countdown in the Weegie household. One week left at school then we are off to the Algarve for some Autumn sunshine. Really looking forward to this. This is the 3rd year we have travelled to the Algarve in October. No3 found it very funny that it was cold at home but she was back in shorts and t-shirts after a short plane ride.

Especially welcome this year when the summer has been such a disappointment. Although when we come back we dive straight into Winter, Halloween and the C word !(ho!ho!ho!) - I'm just not ready for that !

This year we are sharing a villa with friends who have promised to teach No 3 to swim while we are there....she is very single minded and i've no doubt she will master a doggie paddle in that time!

I've been thinking about our Oz trip at Easter - it was Autumn over there - and now it's their Spring...Canberra has just hosted their Floriade in my favourite place. My sister says she has just dusted off the garden furniture - the first time since our fairwell bash. Made me a bit sad.

Also been thinking about my mum a lot. Her 1 year anniversary coming up next month and I've finally started thinking happy memories of her, and not the horrible last few months when she was really ill and in pain.

Maybe the dark nights are a time for us to sit around and reflect on all the good memories.
