Day 52 - Fiddlers Ferry Power Station
Manchester - Liverpool - Manchester - Stoke on Trent
Today we travelled to Liverpool, this blip being of the Fiddlers Ferry Power Station, for what turned into a short busking session.
Although for me it was great to finally meet an avid Blip follower folkie and have a short chat! Slightly strange meeting someone who I'd never met in person before yet seemed like we already knew each other!! I like Liverpool so would definitely return. Nice town. Apart from the abrupt and rude men from the council, party poopers I'm not sure what I was expecting Folkie to be like but she turned out to be exactly as I had imagined! Ace!
So on we went to Manchester which was BIZARRE to say the least... A man with deformed legs was sat on a skateboard he uses to get around playing the same tune over again on a tin whistle. There was a Greek type lady walking around and if you didn't give her spare change she would spit.. All so strange!!!!
Now in the Travelodge with my green tea shocked and saddened by the news from home that a fellow musician from Aberdeen Sinfonietta passed away early this morning.
Rest in peace Julian Marx. Sinfonietta will never be the same without your wit and humour. I will never forget the rupture of laughter at your wild jokes. Thanks for fixing my tailpiece when David wasn't around...Such a sad loss. Thoughts go to your family.
